Here is the Ki Federation aikido news June 2017.
Our thoughts go out to anyone affected by the terrible recent tragedies in Manchester and London.
The members in Canada enjoyed their two courses last month – one in Toronto and one in Vancouver. Congratulations to R. Hager on obtaining his 1st Dan Grading, and Emily Aspinwall and Louis Liew on being awarded their 4th Dan on the Vancouver course.
Our Spring Seminar went well, and we were pleased to welcome members from Normandy and both the Paris associations. Congratulations to the members who passed their Kyu grading on the Seminar, and congratulations to the following who passed their Dan Gradings…
- 1st Dan: R. Lemoine from Normandy.
- 2nd Dan: A. Kontos, P. Zack and A. Bekkali from Paris.
- 3rd Dan: M. Case from Paris.
As mentioned in previous newsletters, letters of invitation for Dan Grading should be returned to Sensei Margaret at the Ki Federation address. For personal emails and information, these should be sent to smargaret@kifederation.org, otherwise they go to the normal Ki Federation email address – office@kifederation.org.
We will require Dan Grade members to make ukemi on the July Seminar Dan Grading on the 1st July – please let the office know if you are available. Similarly, we require ukes for the Dan gradings on the 5th August, during the Summer Seminar, where we have 19 members taking their grading.
