August 2019 Aikido Update

27th Aug 2019

August 2019 Aikido UpdateHere is the August 2019 Aikido Update for the Ki Federation.

We were all excited to see our International members attending the Summer Seminar again. Sensei Margaret would like to thank them for the presents they gave her when they arrived. Our thanks go to everyone who helped during the seminar with tea making, cleaning the dojo and maintaining the courtyard. The fancy dress night was great fun – Cruella de Vil controlled all her puppies very well. Sensei Margaret and the Committee would like to thank everyone for their kind presents at the end of the Seminar.

We congratulate the following members who passed their Dan Grading on the Summer Seminar…

From Canada:
  • 1st Dan: A. Antal, C. Correia and D. Seehra.
  • 2nd Dan: S. Seehra, A. Rodrigues and R. Antal.
  • 3rd Dan: A.Popescu.
From Holland:
  • 1st Dan: M. Van der Bij and M. Dekker.
From Paris:
  • 1st Dan: M. Ben Haj Kacem.
  • 3rd Dan: V. Gunn.
From the UK:
  • 2nd Dan: A. Chamen.

Our congratulations also go to the members who passed their Kyu grading. Thank you once again to all the Dan Grades who made ukemi on the gradings.

Dan Grades who are taking their exam on the Autumn Seminar should send their application form etc. to the office now. We will also require Dan Grades to make ukemi on the Seminar.

Would Teachers please let Sensei Margaret know if any invitations for Dan Grading in 2020 are missing, and if they require invites for regrading

We have places available on the Basic sword course on the 26th October and the Ki Therapy course on the 23rd & 24th November.

Sensei Margaret is holding another MacMillan Cancer Support Coffee morning on the 21st September, 10.30 -12.30pm. There will be a small sale of plants and crafts, so anyone who is in the Headquarters area will be very welcome to pop in. Sensei Williams has made some lovely wooden bowls and bird boxes to sell.
