Here is the December 2019 Aikido update for the Ki Federation of Great Britain.
Congratulations to the following members who passed their Dan gradings on the December Christmas course…
- 2nd Dan: J. Toornent.
- 3rd Dan: C. Whyton and M. Griffin.
Thank you to all the members who came to make ukemi and we hope everyone had a good journey home.
The teacher, Graham Mackenzie (from the Firhill club in Scotland), was at work on Friday then drove down to Headquarters overnight to bring his student for grading. He attended the course following the grading and then drove straight back to Scotland. In all, this was a round trip of 1,000 miles. That is what you call commitment to your students – something which all our teachers give. The Ki Federation is very fortunate to have such dedicated teachers.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has helped over the year – both with the gradings, and cleaning and maintaining the Headquarters.
CHANGE TO THE SPRING SEMINAR. MAY 2nd 3rd & 4th
The office obtained the 2020 wall planner in August. This showed the May bank holiday to be on the dates above. The Ki Federation course dates for 2020 were sent out in September. However, newer calendars show that the bank holiday has been changed rom the Monday to the following Friday. Members wishing to take their Kyu grading may not now be able to have the day off work. So the Kyu grading will now be held after the Saturday course, at 4.45pm. As members may have already booked their accommodation for the weekend we could not change the course to the next weekend. So the Monday morning class will still be on. Please change this information on your club records accordingly.
The office and classes in Headquarters will close on the 18th December. They re-open on the 8th January.
We wish those members who have an illness or injury a speedy recovery.
We hope all our members, here and abroad, have a very happy Christmas and a peaceful, healthy New Year.
Sensei and Sensei Margaret send their very best wishes to everyone.
