Here is the January 2023 Aikido Update for the Ki Federation.
We wish you all a very good, healthy New Year ahead and hope is all well with you and your families. We hope that all circumstances will improve for everyone as this year goes on.
Our congratulations to the following members who passed their grading on the 2022 Christmas course:
- 1st Dan: Mark Cox and Ollie Frost.
Unfortunately, one of our members who was due to take his 3rd Dan grading had an injury just before the date. Consequently he was unable to take part. This has happened a number of times, with members practising too intensely just before their grading date. So the best idea is just to practise as normal – and relax. It will all be fine.
Sadly, we have to let you know that Mr Gerald Hutchings has passed away. He was a very gentle man and taught in Wales for many years before retiring.
Also, very sadly, Mr Norman Ford, who was a Teacher in Wales and a Committee member, had a stroke over the Christmas period. He is now recovering in hospital.
Sensei Margaret has had an enquiry, from a Dan Grade, as to whether a new Ki Therapy course would be arranged this year. If a Dan Grade would wish to attend such a course they should contact the office. Their name will then be placed on a waiting list. If sufficient numbers do so, Sensei Margaret will arrange a date for the course.
We look forward to seeing members on our first course for 2023, with a Kyu Grading, on the 28th January.
We send best wishes to all our national and International Members.
