April 2024 Aikido Update

30th Apr 2024

Here is the April 2024 aikido update for the Ki Federation of Great Britain.

April 2024 Aikido Update
Paris Course – April 2024

Everyone enjoyed the Paris Course and we congratulate the following members who received their Dan Grading.

  • 1st Dan: D. de Lichana
  • 4th Dan: V. Gunn, and E. D’Ambra.
  • 5th Dan: F. Therisod and M. Foret

Everyone enjoyed their course in Muswell Hill, London, in early April. Congratulations to the members who passed their Kyu Gradings on the course. Here is a link to photos from the course.

April 2024 Aikido Update
Combined 6th, 7th and 8th dan Group Course

It was SO good to see the High Grades (6th, 7th 8th Dans) on their group course. It was wonderful to see everyone again, and chat with old friends. The social evening was held in the Watchfield Inn that evening. It brought back memories of old times as, many years ago, that’s where we held the majority of our social events.

We will require Dan Grades to make ukemi for the Dan Gradings on the 18th May, on the Spring Seminar. Would members please let the office know if they can attend. The Kyu Grading will be held on the 19th May.

We look forward to seeing our National members, and members from abroad, who are attending this year’s, fastly approaching Summer Seminar. The Seminar runs from the 5th to 9th of August, and from the 12th to 16th of August. There is a Kyu Grading on the 9th with Dan Gradings on the 10th of August.

We will be having our Fancy Dress evening on the first Wednesday of the Seminar, so plenty of time to organise your costume. This will be held in the Watchfield Inn, just like old times. This is also the first one for quite a few years, so we are sure we will all enjoy it.

An additional day course has been booked by Sensei Steven Woolfall for the 21st September, in the Panteg dojo, Wales. This will be the first course to be held in this area.
