Here is the August 2018 Aikido update for the Ki Federation.
It was wonderful to see all our International and National members on the Summer Seminar again. All together, like a large happy family.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the tea, tidying up and upkeep of the courtyard. Our thanks go to David, Peter and Will for manning the front desk, and to Joye from Australia for the beautiful vases she made for the H.Q. It was great to see all of Narinder’s family over from Canada again and also Gurinders children practicing. We hope they all do well in their school exams. Also, it was the first time for most of us to see baby Alisa from Russia.
Sensei Margaret and the committee members would like to thank everyone for all our presents and cards. These are very much appreciated.
Congratulations to members who passed their Kyu gradings, and to the the following members who passed their Dan grading on the Seminar…
- 1st Dan: A. Dinahet, A. Benadouda and D. Roze (all from Paris) and R. Rymar.
- 2nd Dan: P. Sonolet (from Canada), S. Pitarque and L. Pouille (both from Paris) and J. Vickers (from Australia), R. Tehraoui (from Paris ASC) and W. Neill.
- 6th Dan: L. Quinn and W. Nagata (from Canada).
Please note that the Wednesday night 8pm class at Headquarters, from now on, will be for 1st Kyu and above.
We hope to see some of our members on the MacMillan Cancer Support Coffee morning in H.Q on the 15th September. Sensei Williams has kindly used his woodturning skills to create some beautiful wooden bowls to sell on the day.
