August 2025 Aikido Update

4th Sep 2025

Here is the August 2025 Aikido update for the Ki Federation of Great Britain.

Summer Seminar

We enjoyed another very successful Summer Seminar.

August 2025 Aikido Update
A group portrait of all those that took part in the Kyu Gradings at the end of the Ki Federation Summer School 2025

As well as our UK members, we were pleased to welcome members from Paris and Rennes in France, and from Canada and Holland. We hope they all had a good journey home. We all enjoyed meeting our old friends again, just like a great big family.

Our thanks go to the committee for their teaching, also to Peter, Will, James and Yiannnis for their administrative help. Thanks also go to all the Dan Grades who came to make ukemi on the Dan Grading and all the members who helped with tea making etc. Thanks to Dimitri and Natalia for arranging the night of Greek Dancing – greatly enjoyed by all.

On behalf of the committee members, we would like thank the members for their presents at the finish of the Seminar. Sensei Margaret would personally like to say thank you very much for her present and card which included some lovely remarks.

Sensei Williams was very pleased to be able to meet and chat with our International Representatives again – Adam from Paris, William from Holland and Dimitri and Wayne from Canada.

Congratulation go to all the members who passed their Kyu Gradings on the Seminar, and to the following members who passed their Dan Grading…

  • 1st Dan: S. Byrne.
  • 2nd Dan: N. Brobakk, Mejid Ben Haj Kacem and S. Fowler.
  • 3rd Dan: P. Oroszlany, P. Le Houerou, M. Dekker and P. Lenoir.

We wish a speedy recovery to Bonita Cornish and William Bennet after their knee operations.

  • 1st Dan Grading: 9:30am.
  • 2nd Dan Grading: 11:35 am approximately.
  • 3rd Dan Grading: 12:20pm approximately.
  • Saturday open course: 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
