At the end of March, the Paisley-Elderslie club hosted the other Scottish clubs for a course taught by Sensei O’Connell. It’s always a great opportunity to catch up with friends, but it’s particularly good to see new members attend and take their first gradings.
The course itself was a focused training on extending your mind through a series of exercises. In the first session, everything we did emerged from unbendable arm, and then raising to eye level. In the second session, Dan grades took this into some Jo exercises, while Kyu grades worked their way through various forms.
The day ended with a Kyu grading – all passed – supervised by Sensei Flynn, who we should also thank for our lunch!
We look forward to the next gathering!
