Living life without tension

Sensei Gurinder Singh, teacher at the Epsom Ki Aikido club, has recently taken on the role of grading officer for Kyu gradings. He brings a kindness to the gradings that ensures the grading applicants are able to drop their nerves and perform at their best.

When did you start Ki Aikido?

I started Ki Aikido in 1992.

What made you want to try Ki Aikido?

I was 25 and with my friends, who wanted to get fit.

What do you enjoy most about practice?

I enjoy most the mindfulness and the pleasure of making Ukemi.

How do you benefit from Ki Aikido off the mat?

I benefit in every way. Especially as you have a life without mental and physical tension. The most important thing for me in doing Ki Aikido is the positive relaxation it gives me.

Any other comments?

I have been teaching for 25 years and I enjoy being part of a fantastic community within the Ki Federation, and making friends for life.
