Summer School 2026

One of the hottest summer schools I can remember, but that didn’t slow us down! Students travelled from Canada, France, and across the UK to Somerset for 5 days’ training, and two grading sessions. And that meant 5 evenings celebrating and one evening dancing. And one evening dancing meant dances from 3 countries: Scotland, France (Brittany), and Greece.

On the Wednesday evening, many of us assembled in the local Watchfield pub to practise the dangerous arts of dancing. No-one was hospitalised, though there looked to be some walking wounded the following day.

Lucie from Paris led us all in traditional folk dances from Brittany – along with Pierre, she also sang the tunes!

Natalya brought her Greek dancing for the second year.

Sensei Linda Flynn tried her hardest to organise the rabble into something resembling Scottish country dancing.
