Ki Aikido uses mental and physical exercises to develop a calm and positive mindset. This helps you remain clear-headed and make good decisions in challenging situations. We start with a small challenge, and gradually increase the level until relaxation and calm become habitual, even when things get really stressful.
Because it’s about not fighting, Aikido works in many situations and has benefits across your life and interactions with other people … it’s also good fun to practice.
In this six week course, you will learn the basic principles of Ki Aikido, and a range of aikido exercises.
These will include:
- Ki for health exercises to loosen and lengthen the body
- Ki development exercises to train efficiency into the body, based on relaxation and posture
- Principles of mind and body co-ordination – demonstrating how mind and body work together to create a greater resilience
- How to fall and roll safely
- How to work with a partner without pushing/pulling them
- A set of beginner level throws and falls
You don’t need to do a beginners course – you are welcome to join at any time.
However there are certain advantages to starting with this course, including:
