Aikido class times

Please note that the club is temporarily closed. Sensei Walters has been waiting for a hip replacement operation for several years. As his movement has become more difficult he will be unable to teach until after the operation. That will hopefully happen soon. Then there will be about 6 weeks of rehabilitation after which the club will reopen.

Juniors (ages 5 to 13):
Thursdays, 6.30pm to 7.15pm.
Adults:
Thursdays, 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Feel free to come and watch a class at Northampton Ki Aikido Club to see first-hand what it is like and how it is taught. There is a short break in the middle of the class during which, we will be happy to answer any questions about what you have seen and about the club in general.

If you would like to find out more you are welcome to call Sensei Ian Walters or get in touch with him by email.

If you wish to join the club, then please arrive at least 15 minutes before the class starts so that we can register your details. The junior class starts at 6:30pm on Thursdays. The adult classes start at 7:30pm on Thursdays.

Sensei Ian Walters

Sensei Walters began studying Ki Aikido in 1981, at the Brentford (London) club under Neil O’Dwyer. He has only ever practiced within the Ki Federation of Great Britain, headed by Sensei K. Williams. Some time after being graded 1st Dan, Sensei Walters asked Sensei Williams if he could be his assistant. He then left London for Somerset to be with Sensei. Accompanying Sensei Williams on numerous courses and having personal instruction from him, Sensei Walters experienced the most intense and fulfilling period of his life. He was Sensei William’s assistant for about 10 years. He then moved to Northampton for work, where he started the Northampton Ki Aikido Club.

Now graded 8th Dan, Sensei Walters is a member of the Executive Committee of the Ki Federation. He has taught numerous courses around the UK and has also conducted courses for the Ki Federation’s international friends. He has been privileged to teach courses in Australia, Canada, Russia, France, Holland and Romania.

Venue

There is free parking (after 7pm) in Church Lane, outside the hall. The church car park is also available to all students.

We have moved to a new hall in the Church Rooms building. To find the hall entrance, enter the car park through the gates, and, on foot, bear left. The entrance is the black door at the very rear of the building. Click on the first two images below for help…
